Proposals for a "first-story" bungalow in Capstone. This land has views across its frontage at first story level over the adjacent Capstone Country Park. This led to our brief for designing the entire living accommodation of the dwelling at this level so that the views could be maximized. Only the garages and entrance lobby site themselves to the ground floor. This sits accordingly within the existing grounds so that the rear of the dwelling is level to the backing terraced gardens. Planning restrictions meant that the building had to occupy an elongated shape, which was not best suited for the maximization of these views and natural lighting from the narrowest end. The roof has been split therefore to allow light to access the dwelling at all central points throughout.

Having been recently granted planning permission, we hope to start construction mid-2006.
